5 min read

I've been passionate about literature since childhood, enjoying works by Shakespeare, Poe, and other great authors. My imagination was captivated by their creativity, and for a brief time, I even dreamed of becoming a writer myself. While that didn't ultimately become my career path, I've now found joy in writing for this blog. Today, I am excited to share some book recommendations with you that I think you'll love!

#5 The Encounter: 40 Days of Fasting with Jesus by Gretchen Rodriguez and Brian Simmons

$10.57

Amazon.

Encounter God through forty days of fasting and prayer.

Fasting advances our spiritual life, and Scripture encourages its practice. These times of physical denial help us grow spiritually and give us the opportunity to feel the loving embrace of Jesus. The Encounter is a practical, powerful guide to fasting and deepening your intimacy with God. As you walk through this forty-day devotional, you will

  • experience the love of God daily,

  • learn to tune out distractions in order to focus on his voice,

  • encounter a profound sense of his presence,

  • cultivate a tangible relationship with him, and

  • receive fresh insight from heaven.

Set your heart on a journey of sacred discovery as you fast and seek God.

Not my commentary.

I was blown away by the organization and classiness of this book when I first opened it. Initially, I got it to help me understand fasting, but now I view it as something more. I don't usually read devotionals, but I do like this book a lot. While this does not use KJV-based scripture, it's still incredibly valuable during fasting. As long as you understand the importance of reading from the KJV, this book provides insight on how to deepen your relationship with God and prioritize Him during your fast. I still recommend reading your actual Bible during fasting, but this book is a great addition to your collection.

#1 KING JAMES BIBLE

Prices depend on where you buy the Bible from.

If you're seeking a book that will bring true guidance and transformation, start by reading your Bible. I firmly believe that the Bible should be the foundation of your spiritual journey, and that it's essential to read it before exploring other Christian books. Many women may be satisfied with just reading devotionals or other Christian literature, but I strongly advocate for direct engagement with Scripture.

By reading the Bible, you can find answers to your anxiety, doubts, worries, and questions, and experience the wonderful impact it can have on your life. The King James Bible is a must-read for anyone seeking a deeper connection with God.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

2 Timothy 2:15
