"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful."

Psalm 1:1

What a delight it is to love God's word and to think of it and study it night and day. God's word will strengthen you and teach you that His word is the foundation for life. Following after God gives life guidance and peace. True confidence is found in God's word. You cannot live the balanced life without learning what balance is really about.

The live oak tree is very beautiful with it's strong stately limbs that are all perfectly shaped. They did not become this way just because the seed began to grow, and you could see the green leaves above the ground. We as Christians are like a tree planted by a stream of water.

That water is God's word. It has an effect of nourishment and stability because the storms and difficulties of life will bombard us daily. The beauty of a Christian comes from a daily diet of food from God's word and fellowship in prayer with God our Creator.

Many storms that are very strong and harsh will make the oak tree bend low and at times nearly break. This causes the roots to surge deeper for a stronger foundation and to be ready for the next storm. Each Christian has the choice to become stronger and draw close to God, listening to Him as he brings to remembrance what you already have learned.

Your strength is much stronger and able to withstand each storm and soon you will see how much easier it is to stand. Better the storm with Christ than smooth easy breezes without Him. What if God could not manage to ripen your life without suffering?
