The Wait is Almost Over: I'll Soon Get to Spoil My New Grandbaby Rotten!

This week is going to be an exciting week for our family. My middle daughter Heather and my son in-law Triston are having a baby boy! He will be their first child and my third grandchild. I got to thinking about the difference in raising girls and boys. I have three daughters and helped raise my nieces and nephews. Each one different in so many ways. Many of you have children or you have helped raise children. Quite possibly helping out a family member or a close friend.

Personally, I think boys are very cuddly and a lot different from what expected. I was told boys were rambunctious and always on the move. I guess this depends on the personality. My daughters and nieces were very sweet and very active. My nephews were very sweet and laid back. I hear parents say that having a boy worries them. I think this also depends on the personalities of the parents.

My sister is a mother of two boys, and we would trade nights, because she was always more girly than I was. Doing hair and nails was fun for her and building car ramps for cars, was fun for me. I love my girls. I love my two grand girls of my oldest daughter Harleigh and son in-law Tyler. I will say this, by the time you get to your grands, you have learned it all. Or, at least a lot more than you did in your twenties.

Whether you are blessed with a boy or a girl, they are equally a challenge. Kids challenge us every single day! It is never easy being a parent. I will take it though! It is the most rewarding part of life! I pray each of you reading this realize one thing, we can’t do it alone! We have to grow as our children grow. And, with God by our side, we will always be able to carry out raising our children! Pray for your children, always! Pray for yourself as a parent, always! I hope you have a beautiful day!
